AdminHistory | The Social Development Working Group was formed in 1976 to improve relations between Lothian Regional Council, Livingston Development Corporation, and other relevant bodies. The formal liaison was hoped to lead to more and better informed discussion on matters of social concern. The group took on three main functions:
1. To review the situation regarding the shortfall of community facilities and to identify major social problems. 2. Formulate general proposals for the provision of facilities and services, and to make recommendations on priorities. 3. To suggest ways in which co-operative action between voluntary, statutory and commercial agencies could be directed towards the alleviation of social problems. |
